**I in no way believe that books are a replacement for God’s Word. The Bible is all sufficient and it is the most important thing to read. If you are unable to purchase and read outside material OR if you decide not to read books for other reasons, please understand that reading Scripture is not second best. It does not come up short or leave out information you could be gathering somewhere else. ALL Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be COMPLETE, equipped for EVERY good work” (2 Timothy 3:16-17, emphasis added). This means that all other works serve under Scripture and Scripture has the final authority. I love reading and am thankful for the opportunity to learn from older believers, theologians, and pastors. Reading outside material is not wrong or sinful. It is a blessing when it is taken in in light of the standard, the Bible. But I wanted to mention that it is in no way a replacement, in now way superior, and in no way as important as the Word of God.
